Induction Project: Game Over - Assignment 1

The first task we were given in the NextGen course was to get into groups and film a TV news broadcast of a dystopian world in 2037 where gaming has been banned. We were told to do three shots to display what has happened since the ban. The first shot was to be inside a news station using green screen to create the effect and to have one person in the group speak to the camera using a written script.

The second shot was to be a live broadcast in the field with the destruction behind them and the newscaster explaining what happened, finally the last shot was to be of another location just showing the damage.

What went wrong?

To begin we were put into groups with strangers we had met hours before hand so we didn't know each others skills and weaknesses, then we had 4 days to complete the project by the teachers and due to a trip to EGX the students were not here to finish it on the final day. However it wasn't completely the teachers fault, one of our group members left when he was supposed to film so we lost 2 hours. to add onto that our camera equipment was broken and we didn't have enough SD cards to film and record the voice. Due to these mishaps we did not finish the project fully and only completed the first shot.

What went right?

We all got along well and gave our ideas to each other to build the shots we wanted and the script. Thankfully when three of our member's went out to film one stayed behind to edit the green screen in after effects and he managed to finish it, we would have liked to have done it as a team but due to lack of members and time we couldn't.

In future projects we need to communicate properly which would benefit all of us and make the tasks easier.
